Kosmo-Orphic Symbolism (KOS) is a new word and a new artistic style formulated by Svitlana Dudenko. The spelling with the letter “K” reflects a phonetic principle and underscores the author’s originality.

KOS unites symbolism, the Ukrainian avant-garde, and Orphism, shaping a new language of the 21st century. In its compositions, the circle becomes a symbol of memory and resilience, while color manifests as energy, orbit, and rhythm.

This rhythmic painting fits seamlessly into interiors and collections, acting as a symbolic fragment that conveys a sense of luck and success, becoming a vital link in human environments. Each work carries dual value — cultural and collectible — making it significant for museums, galleries, and auctions.

The birth of KOS comes from Svitlana Dudenko’s layered experience: more than 25 years as Chief Artist of Kharkiv, work in urban design, teaching courses in materials science for monumental artists, antique attribution, and color science. She is an expert in Ukrainian porcelain, author of two foundational books, and a researcher of porcelain and faience marks.

This rich journey made it possible to combine practice, research, and artistic vision in the formulation of a new direction — Kosmo-Orphic Symbolism.
